ECDC Malawi Engages Democratic Progressive Party National Executive Committee on ECD Manifesto Implementation

On November 28, 2025, ECDC Malawi, with support from the TRANAC project, organized an engagement meeting with the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) National Executive Committee at Crossroads Hotel, Lilongwe. This initiative aimed to elevate the visibility of Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs and address key issues affecting children’s development in Malawi.

Under the theme “Professionalization and Financing of ECD in Malawi,” we focused on crucial objectives, including:

✔️ Engaging with the DPP to assess ECD-related challenges and opportunities.
✔️ Reviewing the DPP manifesto on ECD to strengthen policies and initiatives.
✔️ Establishing collaborative relationships to advance ECD efforts.

The meeting featured valuable insights from high-profile speakers, including the Presidential Advisor on Manifesto Implementation, who emphasized the importance of integrating ECD into government strategies.

Media Engagement

ECDC Malawi Launches ECDE Category in Media Awards

ECDC Malawi, with support from the TRANAC project and in partnership with MISA Malawi, proudly introduced the Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) category in the Media Awards.

On 4th May 2024, the Media Gala Awards Dinner took place in Sunbird Mkopola in Mangochi. The ECDC National Coordinator, Board Chairperson and ECDC member witnessed the Award ceremony. In ECDE category, two journalists won the best ECD journalists a female and male. All the journalists are from Times Group. Congratulations to all the winners for their dedication to highlighting early childhood development in the media!
