About the ECD Coalition Malawi
The Early Childhood Development (ECD) Coalition of Malawi was established in 2010 and is a membership organization. The Coalition was setup by stakeholders as a platform for sharing experiences, lessons learnt and to strengthen the voice of citizens and stakeholders regarding the ECD agenda in Malawi. The ECD Coalition is fully registered with the Malawi Government under the Trustees Incorporation Act (CAP 5:03). The Coalition is also a member of the Council for Non-Governmental Organizations in Malawi and the Nongovernmental Organizations Board of Malawi. The ECD Coalition has a mandate to advocate for quality delivery of ECD services with the understanding that the developments in the early years determine life-gains for every human being (Churchill, 2016).

Strategic Affiliations
The ECD Coalition is affiliated to the Africa Early Childhood Development Network (AfECN), and has strong collaboration with ECD networks globally. countries such as Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Lesotho, Swaziland, Tanzania, Nigeria, Senegal, Mozambique and Burkina Faso. The ECD Coalition is also a member of the International Step by Step Association (ISSA), a European region ECD network.
